Led design across an invoicing and real-time payments platform — connecting invoice creation, payment, settlement, reconciliation and integrations with accounting systems including Sage and Xero.

The context
Bluechain set out to simplify business-to-business payments by tightly linking invoicing, real-time payment, settlement and reconciliation — areas usually handled by disconnected systems.
Challenge
The challenge
Design a coherent platform that joined invoice creation, payment, settlement and accounting — and made the resulting reconciliation work feel obvious rather than effortful.
What I did
The work
- Led design across core customer and operational workflows
- Modelled end-to-end flows from invoice creation to payment, settlement and reconciliation
- Helped intrinsically link invoice and payment data to simplify reconciliation
- Defined integration requirements with accounting systems including Sage and Xero
- Worked with the CTO, product owner and development team to shape strategy, roadmap and user stories
- Supported prioritisation and product direction in a constrained startup environment
- Helped challenge product and market assumptions, including where to focus limited team and operational capacity
- Operated in a COO capacity across operational, client and partnership activities
- Demonstrated platform capabilities to prospective partners including American Express and Visa
- Participated in shareholder meetings and company strategy workshops in Australia
